KIM In-Kyum

1945 - 2018

Representative artist of the Korean Pavilion at the 46th Venice Biennale in 1995

Space-less (2005-2017)

Kim In-Kyum's Space-less series is the culmination of his pursuit of the concept of "the spirituality of form" since the late 1990s. His work blurs the boundaries between two and three dimensions and between reality and illusion. As an "image sculpture" that evokes optical illusions in both a physical space (Space) and a speculative space (Less), the Space-less series as a piece of sculpture leaving behind the volume and mass of traditional sculpture opens up to the spiritual realm by guiding viewers beyond the physical world into a space of contemplation.
